# \[Shell\]\[Python\]\[JV1\] Problem on the ls test

I’m stuck on Stage Redirect stdout #JV1

I have the unfortunate error of it works on my machine.

Here are my logs:

```auto
./your_program.sh
$ ls -1 /tmp/qux > /tmp/foo/bar.md
$ ls /tmp/foo/bar.md
/tmp/foo/bar.md
$ exit
$ exit 0

```

I had to previously create the qux and foo folder for it to work though.

Hey @jvivallos, looks like the current code isn’t actually working.

You can verify by printing the contents of the redirected file:

```auto
./your_program.sh
$ ls -1 /tmp/qux > /tmp/foo/bar.md
$ cat /tmp/foo/bar.md
[check the output]

```
