# .net version in the Kafka template (I think should be 9 now)

In the template files for C# Kafka, there is a `.net8` - in other templates (like _git_ or _bash_) there is a `.net9`.

Nothing particular difficult to handle, but I actually like the idea of using the newest dotnet. So I am point it out.

Hi @dplocki, thanks for highlighting the issue! We’ve upgraded Kafka to support **.NET 9** now.

Please note that you’ll need to start a new repository to use .NET 9:
